THE WATCH

This watch was made in 2004 for the 125th anniversary of a Japanese retailer, Tenshodo, by Girard Perregaux. These were made in a series of 125 watches, and these came in a smaller case than the men's model of the GP 1945 line to reflect the preference of the Japanese market. This watch comes in a very conservative 25mm x 35mm stainless steel case, with a size quite reminiscent of the classic Reversos and the older Carter Tanks.  The most beautiful part of the case is its horned lugs that has a bit of a curvature, gently enveloping one's wrist. This feature makes the watch extremely comfortable for the wearer. It's subtle and discreet size also means that this is a perfect watch for the evening to slip under one's cuff.

Unlike most of the GP 1945 models of the early 2000s that came with applied arabic numerals or stick indexes, these came in a rare applied roman numeral configuration, with a guilloche center. The brushed steel dial gives it a bit of a muted look, and keeps the focus towards the center, where the guilloche pattern of the dial and the blued second hand lie.
